SYSTEM CONFIGURATION

SETTING UP WINSIGHT® AT YOUR SCHOOL

LOCAL CAPACITY AND THE IMPACT ON SCHEDULING

Happy Tablet Sketch

The following information, tools and recommended configuration details have been developed to assist school and district technology staff in evaluating local testing capacity and preparing computers to be used for the Winsight® Field Test.

Computers should meet the minimum technology requirements described in the Winsight Setup and Installation Guide.

Prior to testing, the Winsight secure browser should be installed on all computers that will be used for testing. Details and download instructions for the secure browser can be found in the Winsight Assessment System Technology Guide.

A tool is available here for schools and districts to assess their technology readiness. Schools should work with their technology coordinators prior to utilizing this tool. For any questions, please contact the Winsight Help Desk team.

TEST ADMINISTRATION, STUDENT REGISTRATION AND LOGIN

Students will be registered for the Field Test through the use of a spreadsheet. For simplicity, schools will complete a row for each student who will be tested, providing some general demographic information. Schools do not need to provide personally identifying information, as long as they can link back to a student and provide the correct login credentials to each student.

FIELD TEST PARTICIPATION

A student is considered to have participated in the Field Test if the student has completed at least 50% of the assessment for which he/she is registered at the time he/she submits the test for scoring.

OPTING OUT

Should a parent request that their child NOT be tested, simply leave them off of the registration spreadsheet. On the day of testing, make arrangements for the student to do something else while the test takes place.

If a parent requests that their child NOT be tested and you HAVE submitted the registration spreadsheet with the student’s name included, you may: 1) leave the student in the registration system, but not test them or 2) call the Winsight Help Desk (800-644-5024) to inform us that the student will not be testing due to a parental opt-out. On the day of testing, again, make arrangements for the student to do something else while the test takes place.

PREPARING STUDENTS FOR TESTING

Students will receive all necessary training when they log in to the system. Prior to testing, please let the students know that they should try their best. The entire process should take approximately 45-50 minutes.

Support Center

If you have questions related to Field Test logistics or need help using the systems, please call the Winsight Help Desk (1-800-644-5024) or email us at WinsightSupport@Questarai.com

Test Administration Manual (TAM)

This manual provides a full overview of the test administration process to teachers, staff and other educators. Please note, this and other resources are available only to participating schools. All Field Test participants will be provided a login to access resources on the Nextera site.
