A SECURE ENVIRONMENT

CREATING A SUITABLE TESTING ENVIORNMENT

REQUIREMENTS FOR A SECURE TEST ENVIRONMENT INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

Happy Tablet Sketch
  • A quiet environment, void of distractions
  • Students must be actively supervised and unable to access unauthorized electronic devices
  • Materials that might assist students in answering questions must be removed/covered
  • Students should be seated far enough apart to prevent copying/collusion
  • Students should have access to/use of only those allowable resources identified by Winsight® as permissible for each specific assessment (or portion of an assessment)

Students should also be permitted to use scratch paper during the assessment as it can be useful for them to make notes or organize their thoughts. However, following testing, scratch paper should be collected from students and securely disposed of.

Only students who are testing can observe assessment items. No other unauthorized personnel are permitted to be in the room during a test.

Administration of the Winsight Field Test is permitted only through the Student Interface via a secure browser.

THE TEST ADMINISTRATION SHOULD BE CONDUCTED IN A ROOM THAT:

  • Does not crowd students
  • Is well lit
  • Is well ventilated
  • Is free from noise and interruptions

  • Descriptions of test items, stimuli, printed reading passages or writing prompts must not be retained, discussed or released to anyone
  • Test items, stimuli, reading passages or writing prompts must never be sent by email or fax, or replicated/displayed electronically
  • Secure test items, stimuli, reading passages or writing prompts must not be used for instruction
  • No review, discussion or analysis of test items, reading passages or writing prompts is permitted
