On this page you will find instructions and guidance on how to administer the Winsight® Field Test.

IS THE SET UP COMPLETE?

Have you installed the secure browser? Do your computers meet the minimum technology requirements needed to run the test? Have your students got their test session ID, username and password? Make sure setup is complete and you are ready to administer the Field Test.

 

RUNNING AND MONITORING THE TEST

INCIDENTS

Whether it is to safeguard the secure administration of the assessment or make sure no students receive an unfair advantage, test security incidents must be investigated and reported.

This section explains what you should do if an incident occurs during the assessment.

GENERAL ONLINE TESTING RULES

GENERAL PARAMETERS AND RULES

  • Forms will take 40-45 minutes to complete, with a 5-minute tutorial at the beginning. Please allow 50 minutes to complete the test
  • Collusion is forbidden. Ensure students are sitting far enough apart so they cannot look at each other’s work
  • Materials that might assist students in answering questions must be covered or removed
  • Any unauthorized electronic devices that could give access to outside information, enable communication among students or enable photographing/copying test content are forbidden

MONITORING

  • During test administration, please provide supervision and guidance to the students, but refrain from giving help on specific test questions
  • Students may take breaks as needed. Please ensure that before leaving they pause their tests and begin again at the same spot when they return. They will require a proctor to allow them to log back in when they return
  • If you notice any issues with testing, please direct the student to end their testing session and let the school test coordinator know so that they can inform the Winsight Help Desk

REPORTING AN INCIDENT

  • Any test security incident, whether accidental or intentional, should be reported to the Winsight Help Desk 
  • Improprieties or irregularities must be reported to the Winsight Help Desk within three days
  • A breach or suspected breach requires immediate notification to the Winsight Help Desk

Please note, this and other resources are available only to participating schools. All Field Test participants will be provided a login to access resources on the Nextera site

ADMINISTERING THE TEST

To ensure that every student participating in the Winsight Field Test is tested under the same conditions, please follow the provided script when administering the test.

When administering the test, use this script manual to make sure your students have the information they need to get started. Please note, this and other resources are available only to participating schools. All Field Test participants will be provided a login to access resources on the Nextera site.

REPORTING & NEXT STEPS

Participating schools are supported with roster reports and incentive compensation for participating students.

ROSTER REPORT

Participating schools will receive an email with login credentials for the Nextera site. From there schools can access a roster report that lists the participating students – and provides high-level reporting.

INCENTIVE & COMPENSATION

As well as giving your students exposure to innovative item types and online test practice, there are other benefits for participating in the Winsight field test.
